What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners are authorized to diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medication and other treatment. A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care to patients. Manitoba nurse practitioners provide a full range of health care services to individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings including hospitals, community-based clinics and private, fee for service clinic settings. We work in partnership with physicians, registered nurses, and other health care professionals to keep individuals, families, and communities well.
